Sermon Recap and Timeless Truth
The timeless truth from this week’s sermon was that Eagerly Examining the Scriptures Everyday Will Strengthen Our Faith And Transform Our Lives
Key Verse
“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled."
Acts 17:11-12 (NIV)
Canvas Kids Recap
Catch up on all the fun and learning from our Children's Ministry
Elementary:
Bible Story: David & Goliath
Bible Verse: 1 Samuel 17
Need to Know: God gives me courage to do what’s right.
Lesson: We have launched into a new series on Courage! Compared to Bible heroes and superheroes, it may seem like a regular kid might not have courage. But in this series we'll learn what courage really is and how God can empower all of us when we trust in Him! Courage is bravery in the face of fear, doing what’s right even when no one else is, never giving up on the directions God has given us, praying to see God’s promises come true, and giving up everything in our lives as a sacrifice to Him! We saw in the story of David and Goliath that David had great courage and faith as he followed and trusted God to lead him!
Memory Verse:
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13
Pre-K & Toddler: Out in the Wild
Bible Story: John the Baptist
Bible Verses: Matthew 3:1-17; Luke 3:1-22
Need to Know: The Bible is the Very Best Book!
Lesson: Our fall curriculum kicks off with Out in the Wild - African Safari! In this eight-part series, the little ones will go out on a safari to learn all of the wonderful things God wants us to see in His Word, the Bible. Together we will explore the very best book ever written—the Bible—on this adventure! Our first lesson focused on the story of John’s life! John told a lot of people about God and also baptized people, including Jesus! We saw that the Bible tells us so much about these wonderful things and that it is the very best book!
Memory Verse: Open my eyes so that I can see all the wonderful things in your teachings.
Psalm 119:18
