Elementary: Wild West Faith

Bible Story: Jacob Gets Isaac's Blessing

Bible Verse: Genesis 27:1-35, 41-45

Need to Know: God wants. us to be honest at all times.

Lesson: In week 2 of Wild West Faith, we learned how God wants us to be honest at all times no matter what! In the Old West, two bad guys might team up or be “in cahoots” together. When Jacob wanted his father’s blessings, he teamed up with his mother to trick the blessing out of Isaac. Jacob’s trickery ended up tearing his family apart and forcing Jacob to run away to save his life. After our lesson we played a game where teams were in cahoots which each other to try and win a game of noodle balloon ball. The kids in class had a blast and learned though the game how Jacob and his mother were in cahoots and how this is not always a good thing.

Need to Know: God’s Word is God’s Story

Lesson: In Week 2 of Better than Gold, the class continues to learn that the Bible is God’s Story that He wrote so we can know how much He loves us! We saw in the story of Abraham how God promised him that all people on earth would be blessed through him and numbers like the starts in the sky! Jesus was born from Abraham’s family, the Israelites. When we read God’s Word, the Bible, we discover it’s God’s story of how much He loves us and wants us to live with Him forever as part of His special family! The kids played a special pirate treasure game and got to make their own spyglasses to look into the sky at the stars that God created!
