Sermon Recap and Timeless Truth

The timeless truth from this week’s sermon was that There Is No Place Safer Than The Nail Scarred Hands Of The Savior

Key Verse

“After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Acts 16:10 (NIV)

Canvas Kids Recap

Catch up on all the fun and learning from our Children's Ministry

Elementary: Wild West Faith

Bible Story: Elijah Versus the Prophets of Baal

Bible Verses: 1 Kings 18:16-39

Need to Know: God wants to be number one in our hearts.

Lesson: When enemies confront each other in a Wild West town, you might hear the phrase, “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.” Someone had to go. The people of Israel were trying to worship the false idols of Baal. Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal to show once and for all that there is only one true God worthy of our worship and praise! The class talked about what it means to worship the one true God and how in 2026 idol worship might look. To round out our Bible story and discussion, the class ended with a game called Snakes in the Boot. The class had to throw snakes in Cowboy Boots. We saw how there is no room in a boot for feet and snakes, and there’s only room in our hearts for the one true God!

Memory Verse:

The grass dries up. The flowers fall to the ground. But what our God says will stand forever. Isaiah 40:8

Pre-K & Toddler: Better Than Gold

Bible Story: Pentecost and the Church

Bible Verses: John 14:26, Acts 2:1-41, Ephesians 1:17-20, Hebrews 4:12

Need to Know: God’s Word Has Power

Lesson: As we begin to wrap up our summer curriculum, the class learned that we can be stronger and have more power when we read and remember God’s Word because it’s true! We saw how, in the Bible, at Pentecost, Jesus’ followers were together when they heard a powerful sound like a strong wind. God sent the Holy Spirit, just as He had promised! The Holy Spirit gave the people the power to speak languages they didn’t know before. Peter then shared the good news about Jesus, and many people chose to follow Him! God’s Word has power! When we read it, remember it, and share it with others, God can use His Word to help us and others!

Memory Verse:

Your Word to me, Your servant, is like pure gold; I treasure what You say. Psalm 119:140
